Wamba's

This is one of the newer restaurants located in the Mandalagan area of Bacolod City.   Most of their offerings are old Spanish family recipes served during their Sunday lunches.  And now they are sharing it to all of us at Wamba's!  Here are some of it.

Pinoy Greek Salad

Bacalao Fritters

Habichuelas
Habichuelas is a favorite family recipe made from slow cooked white beans with chorizo de Lily.  This was named in honor of their matriarch, Lily Tomasa Alonso, in which this restaurant was opened when she turned 90 years old.

Corned Beef Steak
Their best seller is the Corned Beef Steak and this can be shared by 2 persons.  The meat is so tender and flavorful.

Arroz con leche
Meringue con natilla
I remember in some potluck parties that I attended, Tita Lily would bring one big tray of natilla.

It's a small cozy restaurant which has ample parking space.  But since it's located in an area where the good places are, you'll be lucky to find a parking place on a weekend.  Enjoy Wamba's!

  1. When I go to Bacolod, I will surely visit this one. Thank you for sharing a bit of history about the place, Maricar. I believe stories add more flavor to the food -- more than the actual ingredients. I hope you can use this insights on your next blog posts. :))
