Virgie's Homemade Products

Virgie Chua started baking cakes and pastries for family and friends in 1974.  Her homemade banana cakes and pastillas de mangga were her customers' favorites.  She opened a small outlet beside their rented house and that started it all.

Virgie's has become a one-stop-pasalubong center since you can find here a wide assortment of Bacolod delicacies and sweets.
napoleones
Now a very popular pastry is the napoleones.  Yuppies coming from Manila go crazy over it.  It has a flaky crust with a creamy custard cream with light sugar icing as topping.  The box contains 12 pcs of napoleones.

pastillas de mangga
A bestseller is the, the pastillas de mangga is a half moon shaped tart with mango jam filling.  it is also called the mango tart.  It has a flaky crust and very chewy.  Sometimes you can get it hot, since it is baked fresh everyday.

Dainty tarts with cheese filling topped with meringue.

Food for the Gods & Butter Scotch
Very much like a Butterscotch, the Food for the Gods contain candied Iranian dates to give it a different taste and texture.

Butterscotch is a scrumptious butter bar topped with native oven-roasted cashews.
Both are primarily made from brown sugar, butter and flour.

Assorted polvoron
Polvoron is one of Virgie's classics.  These creamy sweets are made from flour, powdered milk and sugar.  The new flavors are Cookies 'n Cream, Casoy and Pinipig.

Boat tarts
Popularly called boat tarts because of its boat shaped crust, this is a rich and creamy buttery caramel laced with meringue icing on top to give that tender fluffy bite.

Now you know where to go for your pasalubong shopping.  And it's all in one roof!
